I have no idea about what tube is good for my mic, but i know that i have to replace the one that I have so can anyone suggest a brand name and/or model. I need a 12at7 tube. That's all i really know. Thanks in advance! Oh yeah, I don't really want to spend more than 30 bucks if I can help...
Hello all! I am using a MXL 960 (ME) for my vocal recording and was wondering how a Groove Tubes GT-55 would sound in comparison. I do mostly rock type vocals and no screamo stuff. Thanks to anyone that replys.

Hey! I just called my local GC and they have a couple GT-55s left. I was wondering if anyone know's how these mics compare to the MXL 960 mogami ed. that i already have. I was thinking the the GT-55 might be an upgrade but I'm not sure. I use the MXL mostly for recording rock type vocals...
Something about singing in a tiny booth with fiberglass insulation does not sound like the best idea for my lungs and vocal chords. I worked in insulation for like 6 or 7 months and we always wore ventilation masks. I know it'd covered by fabric, but still... I don't know... It's not...
I purchased a pair of the more expensive MoreMe cans and for tracking purposes, they do just fine. I wouldn't use them for editing or in place of a monitor however.
Oh yeah, and if you guys/gals could suggest some mics for the guitars, I'd appriciate that too. I was looking at Shure 57's or MXL 990's. Again, with the tight budget so nothing over around $200 and do I really need a pair of them to make my recordings sound good? Thanks again... again.

I just went to GC yesterday all pumped to get me my first mic and they said they were sold out.... So I asked them if they could call another GC store like 45 minutes away and the salesguy said that the whole northwest region of the US is sold out of that mic. I was soooooo bummed. Guess...
