Using a Tascam US-122L to record vocals.

Awesome! Sounds like it will do the trick! Ill deffinately give that a shot! Thanks for the input Manslick! For the future, I presume i will need to upgrade to some sort of mixing desk to use both monitors and headphone at the same time?

    "Metalcore" Demo

Cheers Greg :) Yeah for sure. I'm still not happy with the toms really, I think out of all the drum parts they sound the most robotic. so I may find some new samples for that.

Yeah I thought about that for a solution. Does quality of audio get reduced due to the splitter? I suppose for tracking itself the quality doesn't really have to be perfect does it. As long as I pick up on mistakes and clips etc.

Using a Tascam US-122L to record vocals.

Thanks for the reply! Yea my monitors are plugged in via the Red and White "Line Out" and yea the phones do cut the sound from the monitors off, theres is only one volume which operates both. It is labelled "Phones/Line out" Yeah I have read a few people using them. How exactly would that...

Using a Tascam US-122L to record vocals.

Hi guys. Me and my band are going to be tracking vocals on some demo tracks soon and the problem I have is, will I be able to use the Tascam interface to send a headphone mix to my vocalist in a booth as well as monitor it all through the control speakers at the same time? Because I cant...

    "Metalcore" Demo

yeah i used a free limiter plugin called Classic Limiter on the "master setting" just to bump the volume, so it being a free limiter probably means its quality is pretty poor and making it sound odd?

Screeching sound from Tascam US-122 mkII

Im having the same issue. Its very irritating! Did anyone ever find a solution? or is it a case of buying a new interface?

    "Metalcore" Demo

Yeah I agree, after taking a break a listening back the guitars definitely lack that nice thick tone somewhat. I think its down to the EQ. I may open the gate up a bit as well as it might be taking some of the tone away? and thanks about the playing, there is still a lot a want to go back re-do...

EQ or FX on Stereo Out when mixing

Okay theres alot to take into account then. i like the idea of having the Comp and EQ there just as reference and see what is happening with the mix once compressed. If you want I could link you to my other post in the MP3 section of the forum so you can have a listen to a demo I did recently...

    "Metalcore" Demo

The phasing is definitely something I will have a look into then! Yeah totally get what you mean about the robitcness of the whole thing. I had a very hard time with the cymbals in particular That sort of sound pretty standard in that genre but I think as you said I can try to do more to...

EQ or FX on Stereo Out when mixing

Ah thats good so what I did wasn't technically wrong. Sounds like I just need to really experiment and try and get a good ear for using the Comp and Eqs on Mix Buss before really using it properly. In the mean time ill keep the Mix Buss free of plugins etc and try to make the mix as perfect as i...

    "Metalcore" Demo

No both guitars were recorded individually and the only bits copied and pasted are the sections. (choruses, verses etc) I never do one take on one track and copy it to the other if that's what you mean. But yes they are panned, and the bass would sit in the middle once record it, so that may...
