    Roland GK-2A Midi Pickup

True, it's more than fast enough for the midi side of things; however I've been using it to control wav samples and I'm afraid it is just too slow to do that (especially once I add in a few loops/layers). I'll check out that channel setting and see how I go with that, thanks :)

    Roland GK-2A Midi Pickup

well... the unit was both more, and less than I expected. The stand alone unit is pretty amazing, it has some great patches, but also some completely useless ones (tell me, when would you ever need to use a "Molten Lava" sample). As far as using it as a controller, there is still a bit of a...

tell me if this can be done

yea, I'm totally into that -- check out http://www.harmony-central.com/Effects/ > "Schematics and Construction Tips", they have a whole wack of pedal schematics (including the site you mentioned). If I ever get some free time I wouldn't mind workin' out a few of the beta amp schematic projects...

    Roland GK-2A Midi Pickup

aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggggggg....... Well it looks like I'm the owner of a new GR-33. The cable guy was wacked out on cough syrup er somethin'. I guess I've spent a ridiculous amount on my studio, why stop now? That's what credit is for anyway :).

tell me if this can be done

bah. This may be true, but where the hell is the fun in that.

tell me if this can be done

well not one that I've tested, but it's a fairly easy concept. It's more or less your original idea, but instead of having all the connectors soldered to one cable, you have the ends soldered to a switch which in turn isolates and connects the specific din to the cable. You would just need two...

    Roland GK-2A Midi Pickup

No worries man :) ... like I said, I acknowledge that y'all are just tryin' to help -- hell, I've done stupid things before. I'm almost done bludgin' at work and on my way to pickup that cable/software, I'll post the result.

tell me if this can be done

Instead of messing with the cables, wouldn't it make more sense to buy connectors and build a switch box?

    Roland GK-2A Midi Pickup

I don't know about that, but you are right, it could quite possibly be far to slow (though I can't imagine they'd manufacture such a thing if that were the case). I'm really not sure if the guy I talked to is wacked or not, but I'm willing to give it a try... I've spent a helluva lotta money...

    Roland GK-2A Midi Pickup

well I might of had a false hope that someone would of created an "all in one" device (I seem to remeber the G-Vox being a plug and go sorta thing, but I also seem to remember the G-Vox not being very good), Long & Mcquade Music (the store where I bought it, one of the larger music stores up...

I've seen them average about $250 CAD (which is what... $5 USD... j/k).

    Roland GK-2A Midi Pickup

Hell with midi.... I just recently purchased a Roland GK-2A with the hopes of plugging straight into my computer. I have everything I need as far as the computer side of things go (USB midi port, software, etc., etc.) but I soon found -- to my disappointment -- that the GK-2A uses a 13pin...

right on -- I knew there had to be some reason, thanks for the heads up. I'll hafta try that tonight.

    tin foil and mouse balls.

try the same thing with a pager, it'll pick up whatever ringer tune you have set. Hmm... using a vibrating pager might be interesting too... (which reminds me of a friend of mine who used a vibrating dildo across the strings -- once you pick yourself off the floor from laughter, it sounds pretty...

    se-50

SE-50 is definitely a unit worth having -- unfortunately mine recently bit the dust -- for some strange reason the first 127 effects have turned into the same fuNked, uncontrollable, useless effect (with a 2 second pre-delay) and all the names have turned into funny characters... I think I'm...
