3 post-writers block songs for the judgement of your ears

I Listened to the first song, very ethereal, and haunting (in a good way). Regarding writer's block, what works for me is - Don't start off with paper and pen (keyboard and DAW) and say to yourself, "I'm need to write a great song" Instead, un-pressure yourself by starting off by saying to...

    Good to Great

Good song, very pleasing to ears. The lead vocal could be pitch-corrected to get it into a more pro level. Also, the lead vox could go back into the mix, it's a bit to upfront, like you are singing to a karaoke program.

Wall - another rocker updated 3-19-18

For the lead solo, try panning to one side, then use a Haas effect to make appear a bit on the other side. Then bring up a bit.

    "Roadstar" New Drums

Here's a cool trick that I have been using lately that makes panned cymbals in virtual drum sets I bit more real. If you have cymbals coming out of individual channels like I do, to be stereo summed later, use a Haas effect to put a bit of a delayed iteration of it in the opposite stereo field...

    Original song and greetings!

Sounds like your trying to get sonic elements of this song to pop out using compression and limiting on the 2 bus, when you probably needed to make that happen earlier in the chain. There is a bit of warble on the crash cymbal, and that is usually a sign of over-squashing the mix (and that...

Home Free - Orchestral "rock" type thing

Yea, I +1 Strat's comments re: mid-range heavy for about half of the instrumentation on this. I would first get rid of any unnecessary low frequency stuff that's going on with things like strings by using a high-pass filter, then using an eq dip that will attenuate the brassy-ness as well...

New Industrial Metal Song Mix Check Request

Good mix, overall. I would keep the kick and snare going, though, even through the breakdowns, if you want to keep it as a "band playing industrial metal", as opposed to one guy triggering Ableton Live. In other words, I would love to see how this would be played live at a show with people...

Last One In The Room - alternative pop, new mix

It's actually a popular move that came about predominantly in the 90's
