Try the D6 or NT1a 6 inches away from the front of the kick and a 57 somewhere around your head. You can't go wrong.

Use the Boss RV5 reverb pedal. plug it into the send/returns on the 414. It has lots of nice reverb settings, it's inexpensive and small, and it sounds good.

Hiss is probably the last thing you should worry about. I think hiss is pretty actually.
