Clam Soup

I am much more a songwriter than a musician, but in the process of writing songs - I end up making music.

We were in a friend's studio one night and I was explaining why I'd rather write than play - because I AM going to make mistakes.... over and over and over again. My friend said, "Don't worry about the occasional clam. Sometimes mistakes can actually work in the music. ... and, if you make enough of them, we'll make clam soup."

HA! I knew instantly that my identity was set.

Since then, Clam Soup has become more than a funny name - it has become the whole of my philosophy. It is what the tide washes in. It is Alaskan all the way. It is mismatched socks and rubber boots. It is all of the ingredients that are available - sometimes it tastes horrid, but usually it is just missing an ingredient or two to make it taste great.

Reflections - I like reflections!
