I use EZDrummer and I love it. You can load it up as an instrument track and then either program drums; play a drum track with MIDI pads, or drag and drop some of the provided MIDI grooves.
Never used FL, but with EZD I really don't feel like I need or want anything else for drums

I may run a bit of EQ on the guitar. I see what you mean about the mids
I agree that it kind of needs a change of pace somewhere too
I love it. Again agree with the Beatlesque vibe.
I like how the vocals sit in the mix. Not sure if I heard some mellotron deeper in the mix, but if not I'd love some!

I ended up getting a power attenuator - not cheap, but man I love the sound of my amp now!
At the end of the day the price of cables is a necessary evil. Just don't buy cheap stuff. It still amazes me people that have expensive guitars and amps, and boutique effects and link them all up with cheap, noisy tone-sapping cables.
I get my made up locally - they do a good job.
I think things like this need to be put into perspective. Just because you have been to School XYZ and studied recording doesn't mean much, it all depends on how hard you work etc. There are obviously people who do go to these places and become excellent at what they do, as well as those who are...
