Well Scott I've been wondering if you ever got that thing going. :) I am glad you can put it to use. I know when I had it I enjoyed it too. Keep us all posted. Danny

    Zoom MRS802b vs MRS1608... is it a no-brainer?

I have owned both the MRS1206 and the MRS1608. Personally if I were you I wouldnt purchase either the 802 or the 1608. The sound is cheap and the effects are not that great. I read an article on Sound on Sound website that said the 1608 was a great unit. Well I didn't find anything greater about...

Anyone have a 1/4" 8 track they'd be willing to part with?

I have a Fostex R8 that I would be willing to sell.

Looking for a 1/4" 8 track. Do it.

I have a Fostex R8 I might be willing to depart with. I am the second owner of the machine and I purchased it from a "very honest" guy who lives in Colorado. About a year ago I had it completly gone through by a very reliable guy who did replace some capstans (I think that's what they're...

    Opinion on Carvin StudioMate SM162

Ive owned this board for three years. I own pretty much all Carvin equipment and I find it very well built. I mainly use this with a Fostex reel to reel 8 track. It hasn't given me any trouble at all and it is very quite. I like faders too until they get dirty.

    Korg D1200mkII vs. Tascam 788

I own a Korg D1200MK11 and to me it is awesome. Most recorders will have a feature the other recorder don't have. I have owned several stand alone recorders but the Korg in my opinion is fantastic. If you go to their site you'll get great advise on the machine and you'll rarely ever read of a...

    Korg D3200

I have a Korg 1200MKII and in my opinion Korg is tops. I have used Zoom, Boss, computer software and I think their recorders are great. A good friend of mine owns a recording studio. He told me on several occassions to buy a Korg to use as a stand alone recorder. I didn't listen to him and kept...

    Zoom comments

Former Zoom user Well I must say that I too have used alot of Zoom gear and have added some positives to this thread. But I went from the 1266 to the Zoom 1608 and really didn't notice any difference in sound quality. So I returned that unit and purchased a Boss BR1200. In my opinion the Zoom...

    Br 1600 or MRS 1608

I have had both the MRS1608 and Boss BR900 and BR1200. I will say that I am not impressed with the Boss units. Yes the drums sound fuller but I didn't care for the mixed sound. The Zoom MRS1608 is very limited. It has some good features and is easy for the beginner. But it doesn't have real...

ZOOM MRS/PS04 Editors V4 Available Now

Zoomermo I purchase mine through Sound Side by recommendation off of the Zoom BBS. It was supposed to be sent to me by ShareIt. I did receive a confirmation from them with a order confirmation number - 22064755. However I did contact Armin Heinrich (from Sound Side .com) who said that he uses...

    Roland BR1200CD or Zoom MRS1608

My 1266 I myself have never used a Boss recorder. I have owned a couple of Zoom MRS recorders the latest was a MRS1266. When I first bought the 1266 I was hating the thing. I thought It sounded terrible. After some serious manual reading, purchasing a couple of good condensor mics, learning...

    HUGE price increase

I received my new Musicians Friend and Same Day Music catalogs the Alesis Firewire 8 jumped from $249.00 to $399.00. What the hells up with that? AMS still has them for $249.00. Must be do to the gas price increases. More shipping cost :)

    string squeek

I use WD/40 on a rag to wipe down the strings and hold down the rust. This helps hold down the noise of the strings too. I don't use it alot, and don't put a bunch on the strings. Also rub your finger tips on the rag prior to recording. It will make your fingers a little more slick and...

Zoom 1608 Can i use an aftermarket cdr/cdrw

yes you can!!!!!!! I own a Zoom MRS-1266 and I purchased a CD burner from Radio Shack and installed it with no problems. It works great. I know that Zoom threatens to void the warranty but I took my chances and it worked.
