Hello!

I am here on this forum to learn about about various musical techniques ranging from recording, to singing! I am just starting to get into singing (no formal training) and find it intriguing to see (and hear) what so many other novices and experts are submitting as far as material and feedback for vocals, amongst many other topics. There is so much here to learn from! What a great community!

As far as myself, I love darker, heavier, melodic music with a nice thick bass line. My favorite genres of music to listen to range from rock/metal/alternative to industrial/ebm and even trip hop and ambient noise, and so on. I guess mostly electronic music, but I have an affinity for guitars being laced into electro. I can listen to just about anything with the exception of country- although, I can still observe the quality of the sound and give credit where it is due, it is just not my cup of tea.

I am a novice when it comes to music, and I am getting a late start into starting up a band, if you will. The only experience I have had with an instrument was playing around with my Grandmother's Lowery Theater Organ when I was a child- which was fun with all the great bells and whistles it had (lots of effects and different sounds that you could produce from the console) which surely has led me to have such a fondness for the sound of synth.

With the assistance of a close friend of mine who is a skilled musician, I am currently learning a lot about Cubase, and teaching myself the way around midi keyboards and the like, as well as trying to get used to holding a mic. >__< A bit daunting with such a late musical start a 27, but so much fun! I look forward to creating an industrial/trip hop sort of themed sound once things start to fall into place, and I envision a cyber-future esque type of theme centered around the topics of neuroscience and how our minds have the ability to morph the way we behave, and so on. I love to write poetry, so I have a lot of material that I have lying in wait to metamorphosize into songs. I hope that with enough learning and practice that I will be able to produce something meaningful, that can be introspective for listeners, while still being fun and entertaining, not too heady considering the content.

Aside from being a fanatical music listener, some of my other hobbies are centered in art, and a few are listed below...I could ramble on some more here, I suppose, but this should suffice for now.

other than music; photography, digital media, prop making, rabbit and kitsch couture collector, dancing/clubbing, going to rock/metal/industrial/ebm concerts, learning about neuroscience, the color pink, sushi, ah too much random stuff to list...
