I recorded a coouple of hours today a 9' grand baldwin piano using only a rode nt4 stereo x/y mic. I used sonar xl 3.1 and mackie mixer vlz pro w/mic preamps. I moved the mic around, in and out of the cabinet. I was never really happy with the sound. I plan to try again in a couple of days. I...

I have Rode nt1-a's and wonder if anyone has used a pair of these to mic a grand piano? Any suggestions on a third mic? BB
