    Recording a 10 Strings guitar

Nice playing. You might want to check out Paul Galbraith who plays an 8 string. Maybe you can figure out how he stops the bass strings from over-powering despite the unique position he has and how his guitar is poised on a resonate box. Paul Galbraith – Royer Labs Audio and Video Library

    End of the world

I listened on my Wharfedale monitors. The intro sounded very up front and detailed. I liked it. Very good presence. Balance is off to the left. Nice playing! If you added some variations it could be a nice instrumental. Speed it up a tad? The vocal has too much verb. Maybe more pre-delay, or...

    What DAW are you using?

Ardour 5.x I've used Audacity for years, so you can guess my needs are simple. Ardour seems awesome enuf that I donate.

For those that think Microsoft doesn't care about audio

Pre-release microsoft operating systems are the greatest things on the face of the earth. I bet it was even better about 3 years earlier.

Here is an entire recording and mastering studio, Mirror Image that has been using Linux for a couple of years. Let me also pimp a blog entry I did a while ago about this.

    An end to Internet Radio?

That's my take too. They can jack them up as high as they want, then double it for all I care. RIAA is a consortium of greedy idiots. Art

    Timing with Audacity

My version of Audacity (1.2.3) has something under Generate->Plugins 1-15->Click Track. You can pick tempo, number of measures, beats per measure. Sounds like what you want, doesn't it? Art

    Audiophile 2496 ??

According to this, they don't have midi except for macs, but I'd look at the online manual to be sure. I don't see anything in the specs for a midi interface cable. You don't hook speakers or headphones direct to this, or any high-end card as far as I know. It has to go to an amp, or powered...

    Audiophile 2496 ??

It's a good card, but for preamps you can snag an omni studio bundled with a delta 66. or delta 44. I've seen them on ebay for 100-150 USD. the delta is from the same manufacturer and uses the same chip (ice1712) as the audiophile. The delta 44 doesn't have digital i/o, other than that they are...

Anybody recording on a Linux based PC?

that's a lot negative about linux Just so there is some positive - as I said, I just use a few apps. Ardour seems to work but I know diddly about daws. Here is a screenshot of my computer taken a few weeks ago - runs fedora core 4, 2 gigs of ram. m-audio 2496 soundcard (you can see the mixer in...
