I sought help here in deciding which mic to buy, and with no help from anyone, I went for the Samson Go purely based on Youtube reviews. So far I am happy. It's totally worth it! :D

Steenmaroo thanks a lot. This mic is just 10 USD and that's why i'm tempted to buy it. But as you say if I cannot use it then the best thing is to look for another alternative. I doubt I can find a good quality USB mic for 10 USD though. Maybe I should buy a cheap preamp too.

Thanks I think I have to study a lot more about how to use a lav with a shotgun and what kind of sounds to be made at a studio. Currently I have no soundproofed studio hence my effort to do it all digitally as much as possible.
