DR-40x is it ok using different types of mics at the same time?

Such times indeed. Covering one’s ..s is the most important thing. Your friend’s story is quite exemplary. But for the sakes of scientific truth sacrificing a mic is a small thing to pay (easy for me to say, right?))) The innocence of Mr. Phantom is proven again!

DR-40x is it ok using different types of mics at the same time?

Thanks rob aylestone. This is where the question started, in the following statement of the manual: “Set the phantom power switch to ON only when using a condenser microphone that requires phantom power. Turning phantom power on when a dynamic mic or other mic that does not require it is...

DR-40x is it ok using different types of mics at the same time?

OK, I found it in the manual: “When using condenser mics that require phantom power and dynamic mics together, be sure to use balanced dynamic mics. Unbalanced dynamic mics cannot be used when phantom power is enabled.” SM57 is a balanced mic.

DR-40x is it ok using different types of mics at the same time?

Thanks Chili for your reply! My worries are not about the sm57 (it’s quite indestructible), but about the dr40x/dr40, thinking that something might get “fried” in it... preamp?... But if you say it works just fine, then it’s great!

DR-40x is it ok using different types of mics at the same time?

Hello everybody! I have a question about tascam dr-40x. Is it possible to use two different types of mics at the same time — one condenser (phantom powered) and one dynamic (something like sm57)? Thank you!

    Anti-Cat monitor covers -- DIY

All cats are different. Ours love to sit in boxes, but they never scratch them. They love though to chew on Crocs and guitar stand rubberized brackets. In a past we had a cat that destroyed our cables. So to protect speaker surrounds is a logical move. I just don't want to find a hole in the...

Focusrite Scarlett 18i8/18i20 or PreSonus Studio 1810 with Reaper?

Thank you! I have to say (maybe I'm getting old...)) after some learning lessons in S1, coming back to Reaper is like coming home. There are many things that I don't even think about. But I'll pursue.

Focusrite Scarlett 18i8/18i20 or PreSonus Studio 1810 with Reaper?

Yes, upgrades -- that's too. Or maybe it's intuitive because I'm just used to it. Yes, I must try it. And maybe I'll convert. This is the review I was watching about comparing those two: YouTube

Focusrite Scarlett 18i8/18i20 or PreSonus Studio 1810 with Reaper?

I guess you're right, Waterbound, I should try Studio One since it came in a package. I heard good things about it. At the same time I can do anything I need in Reaper. Unless it doesn't perform, there is really no reason for me to switch and go through some learning curve. What I like about...

Reaper / Universal Control having drums track out to PA system, live jam recording?
