No, not yet! but this sounds like a may be a fun challenge. I'm going to take off the side panel again tomorrow and see if anything looks loose. Again, if anyone knows anything that would be awesome! PS, I'm sure it's the same one I bought! I'm in portland, and I went to vancouver to get it!
So I just bought an Otari MX 5050 MK III-8 for $150, a steal right? But the right motor is being sketchy. It won't move. It moved for a smidgen for a little bit, and then stopped. We opened up the side, when we thought it might be a loose belt, but it doesn't use belts. THought it might be...

I use 6 mics, I have the worlds shitiest drum mic kit, ($150 CAD kit) which I can actually get some pretty decent sounds out of. BUt I like to put SM57 on the snare instead of the crap they provide. I want to use 8 mics so I can get some room sound, but I have my compressor eating up two...
Yep
Yeah, I've got a se of 20/20's, and it does have light bass response. One of the forst mixes I did for a friend I ended up blowing some car speakers. Oops. You just gotta get used to um. I barley notice it now, but you gotta mix it at about half of what you think it should sound like. Its a...

Okay, so I did as you said, butttt my channel inserts are being used to record to my computer and the line inserts are pre fadder and won't seem to work right. Any more suggestions?
Yeah...
I pretty much assumed the onboard effects would be awful, I'm just wondering more about the pres and recording quality. I love my little 16 channel mackie, but I need more room!
this sounds like it needs compresion, and warmth. see if you can find the PSP vintage warmer plug in, and maybe a sonic maximizer for the low end. and make sure you don't have the bass eating up all your low end.
anyone have one? I'm thinking of getting one (can get a real good deal) but I can't find any info about it! also if there's another place that would be more appropriate to post this, let me know! Thanks a lot guys!

So I've got a Mackie CR1604 board. I'm running my behringer stereo compressor through it. I've got the board running the aux outs to the compressor, but when I run them through the aux returns, it won't record with compression. I can hear it compressing, and can...
