I would add more RAM. Max it out. Shoot for a gig of RAM. Also a second hard drive. I would use you 160 gig hard drive for audio only, and a 40-60 gig hard drive for audio applications, OS, driver, etc...
be warry of All-In-One boxes. Usually, one cannot upgrade one of these. Becomes outdated faster then a Computer or a HD Recorder. If the mixer or something else breaks and it cannot be repaired, you have the recycle the whole thing and buy a new gadget afterwards.

Went to the Lexicon site...
but there was not indication of propriatary software with the Omega. I beleive that only Protools has propriatary hardware and software. So I would assume that one CAN use any compatible software with the OMEGA. CoolEdit is one of those DAWS that seems to work...

There is no way to connect a firewire/usb 2 drive to the MX. Only ethernet and SCSI connectors.
To get to your firewire drive you have to go through your computer and then to your firewire drive.

I do this all of the time, but not with an ADAT involved. But the way I transfer files from my MX to my computer is either via ethernet audio transfers or hot-swap hard drives. As long as everthing can read time-stamped Broadcast .Wav files, all should line...
