    Boss BR-8

aldo, your enthusiasm is marvelous. When you get a few songs recorded, burn them to a CD and send me a copy. I will send you my CD. RT

    Boss BR-8

Aldo, simply play around with the BR-8. The unit is forgiving and simple. Before long, you will be building your songs without looking at a manual and I think you're going to be very happy. There are several web pages devoted to the BR-8. Michael O'Comain's site, the BR-8 Manifesto, is...

    Considering BR8 please help...

Fast and easy. That's what you get with the BR-8. If you like complex tools, you might tire of it quickly. I don't have any mp3's but I do have a chronicle about my first year of working with a BR-8. My ongoing evaluation is at http://br8page.editthispage.com Good luck in finding the machine...

    Boss Dr-5

Been using a DR-5 for several years and don't like programming it. Also, the drum patterns in mine are fairly lame. But its synths and drums sound authentic and rich. So I play it into my BR-8 as though it were a big keyboard or a set of drums. Also, you can take it on holiday and write entire...

    BR 8 Helpful hint

Nor have I been able to get the midi synch going between my Boss DR5 and the BR-8. Not even with the help of the Boss techs (via telephone calls on my account inasmuch as Boss doesn't offer toll-free support); they didn't show any particular insight or background on the topic. Over the past 8...

    JVC Xlr5000Bk CD recorder?

Have you used a JVC CD recorder? How about the XLR5000BK, a consumer model with line/mic mixing? RT http://br8page.editthispage.com

    direct recording to BR-8

This is the same question I've been asking, Steve, at http://br8page/editthispage.com. Which stand alone cd recorder might best mate with my BR8? I've seen maybe half a dozen replies and I've come to the astounding conclusion that almost everything is going to work. It is simply a matter of...

    Boss Br-8 Digital recorder

I'm sure the Akai is righteous, sond. Nonetheless I am happy to say that the prices of 100 mb disks are falling steadily. Best price yet: two weeks ago I paid $5 apiece for Maxells (in 5-packs) at Office Depot. As more people turn to cdr's the price of 100 mb disks will continue to fall.

    Boss Br-8 Digital recorder

Wish, Thank you for giving us the Riksmusic address. I emailed them this weekend because I'm shopping for a Nemesis bass amp. Their price quote was by far the best I've seen. Also, Erik responded to my request for advice as to how much air is pushed by various configurations in the Nemesis line...

    Boss Br-8 Digital recorder

Seems to me that if you're tech-shy you might appreciate the BR-8 package. If you're ambitious and tech-savvy, you might go VS880 or Korg for more long-term flexibility. My ongoing evaluation of the Boss unit is at http://br8page.editthispage.com The BR-8 Manifesto site is extremely...

All in one "digital workstations" ... Your advice please !

Sounds like you have a clear plan and are a capable recordist, so I think the Korg 8-track may be your cup o' meat. But if you wanted to keep recording on a super-easy basis along with pretty good flexibility and good fX, you should check the Boss BR-8. My guitarist's chronicle and ongoing...

    Boss BR-8

'drat, That's a good price on the 840. Get it! Unless you're tech-shy. For me the BR-8's ease of use is a huge factor. I don't want a mixing board in front of me. By the way, I've never heard anyone say that latency is a problem on these stand alones. For more on my misadventures and fun with...

100mb zip disks $5 at Office Depot

This weekend my local Office Depot advertised Maxell 100 mb zip disks for $24.99 (via an instant rebate of $28) for a 5-pack. Said they were ordinarily $52.99. It's the best price I've seen. RT
