  • I only had a tascam 428 years ago. The manual said phantom power could harm it. I don't know about the unit you have. Better check on the forum and get some info. The mics I used did not need phantom power, and I am not sure if harm would come about or not. Sorry don't have much to say........better to be save than burn things up. PP does have juice going to things.
Hi I just bought a Tascam 02CF...In one of your replies to a post you were saying that the phantom power switch is capable of frying the unit... When does that occur? I usually turn the phantom on when I am using my condenser mic and recording vocals... How soon after I hit stop on recording do I have to turn it off? Thanks, ~Tiffany
