  • The microphone you purchased is incredibly inexpensive for a large diaphragm studio mic, however, for all I know, it might be darn good, but the microphone could very well be the issue in this case along with the method you are using to get your signal into your computer.
    If the items I suggested are out of reach, financially at this time, you might be better served by purchasing a high impedance mic that comes with a 1/8th inch mini-jack as it will be more compatible with the sound-card that your Dell.
    As an FYI, the Shure Microphone Company recently released the PGA-181 Studio Condensor Mic that costs only $94 that just won an award this Month (1/2016) from the well known "Electronic-Musician Magazine" so there are low-cost mics like this that do work well but they are being built with a certain level of quality control.
    In any case, use the forum search function, keep asking questions and keep learning.
