  • re: your guitar sound thread, have you tried guitar rig? it costs a bit, but if you download it and try it (this is why i've pm'd you, the forum hates software pirating) and like it, then you could buy it. I have a peavey 5150 with 4x10 mode 4 cab, a marshall triple super lead with 4x10 marshall cab, decent mics (sm57s, sm58s + and an audio technica condenser) and I still use guitar rig for most of my recording as it's easy, sounds excellent and you get the choice of about 10-15 amps and a load of effects. It's a VST/RTAS plug in made by native instruments. if you get it, run your guitar into your mixer, mixer into your interface, then use pro tools to create a track with the guitar signal running through the guitar rig plug in live. With this you can have drum tracks playing at the same time as guitar and stuff. i recorded this www.myspace.com/zlogic with guitar rig, and i reckon you'll agree its a nice, heavily distorted but still defined sound.
