Dana Loesch talks about the backstory of Thanksgiving

I found this interesting - she says the holiday has its origins in a failed experiment in socialism.

I think this is the reference to the Plymouth colonists trying the communal approach to their fledgling colony and they rean into to trouble with it and divided up into a private ownership/ meritocracy approach. Nothing to do with music, but I think that's what it is....

I was trying to find an image someone made regarding the first Thanksgiving where the Pilgrims poisoned the Indians, to send to my friends and family for Thanksgiving. I couldn't find one. I did find this, and it was even better.

Dayum, deja vu that looks amazingly just like our extended family thanksgiving gathering!

Eh, I kid. Who am I trying to fool, we're all fuggin "nazis".

Kidding! I'm just kidding!

I might bother to listen and possibly attempt to at some point. Not tonight though

I just watched it. My analysis? She talks a lot. I mean a whole lot, and her voice is a bit grating. I'm not sure if she's going for the brainy hot chick with glasses thing, hot for teacher type thing, but the turtle neck isn't doing it for me. It is filmed from the neck up, so not getting a good tits shot I reserve judgement. I did notice she paints her nails nicely. In my opinion, and experience, women who take good care of their hands and feet generally take care of other things equally well. Typically, there are always exceptions to the rule, but it's a good indicator for a possible. I mean if I was single, and if she could take a breath every once in a while and...I did mention she talks a lot, I mean a whole lot?

The rest, what she says? I would think it is fairly common knowledge, or used to be. Used to be, doubtful taught in schools any longer.

Yes she talks a lot - that's a desirable trait in a talk radio personality.

She's got an interesting back-story - she's a former liberal turned conservative. Big 2A supporter - the title of one of her books is "Hands Off My Gun".

She's a fitness buff - she's got the genetics for bodybuilding but doesn't push her training that far.

The Cliffs Notes - she's holding up the evolution of the settlement as an example of the superiority of free enterprise to socialism.

I don’t know what occurred there. Too often the written ‘ history’ isn’t actually an accurate account. I wasn’t alive then, and definitely wasn’t there. But.......I have heard this version of the events from more than one historian, and I do like the above mentioned story better than some of the others, FWIW. At least there’s a lesson learned.

I wonder how Dana would feel about folks glossing over the content and moving straight to sexual objectification.
Haha! She posed for the picture. Put herself out there.

And for the record, I addressed the content first. :D
And then that pic showed up. :-) Couldn't resist. And yes, she has skinny legs.
You disagree? :D

It's all good. It just occurred to me.... here's this self proclaimed conservative commentator putting out content where she's sharing an intellectual/economic point of view or opinion (I assume - I did not listen)... I assume she would hope to be taken seriously. It made me curious if she came here and read this - what would she think about some of the comments being about her looks and appearance - and even her personal hygiene.

Well...

She started it!

All seriousness aside, it's kind of weird when women get all dolled up or dress provocatively then get all bent out of shape when men look...or possibly comment. It's like those gals who wear those "yoga pants" or whatever they're called which show every curve of her body, go to a gym, film the entire thing of men looking at them as they bend over and such, and then post it on the net as an example of how just because they are awesomely hot they can't just be a normal person going about normal activities without men objectively assaulting them with their eyes. That's actually a thing, the gym thing. I saw one where the guys were on to her game, whatever the chick did or showed the guys refused to look. At one point she got in a little trouble and needed a spot, nobody helped because they knew what she was up to and were ignoring her. She was actually offended, nobody had her back, where's the comradery.

On the other hand, I kind of get it, not the set up for guys to fail, but discomfort at being stared at. Several years ago over the winter I had dropped some weight, had been doing a lot of physical activity, a bit of workout, and was looking pretty tight for an early 50s guy. Had been fishing on the beach a lot when I could, was tanned, hair kind of long and blonded out, about half the time wear a shirt to protect against the sun but was shirtless that day. My wife, adult daughter, and I on the beach, they sunning me slightly off from them fishing. I started noticing women walking by, looking, and once past turning for a double take. I started noticing, looking around the beach women in chairs, all around me, most with sunglasses, heads turned my way. Wtf? I walked over to my girls, they were getting a chuckle. I complained, wth is with these women all looking at me, staring and stuff. My girls, with a surprise and laugh, "you've never noticed that?". No, I hadn't. I mean, occasionally yes, but. I guess I could have been flattered, but it was uncomfortable. I just wanted to fish. It is human nature, men do it, women do it. What are you gonna do. How women dress, they say, typically sort of, women dress for other women, not necessarily to attract the attention of men. But it is natural for men to look, and possibly comment to one another. It's gonna happen. However, the less, I don't know, respectful(?) you dress, the less "respectful" the looks and comments. Dress provocatively, you might provoke.

Long rambling post probably should have gone in my Mick Doobie thread, but word is thread was called off.

I was just joking around, man. A provocative post in a provocative thread. Hygiene, you mean the painted nails comment? I was serious about that. It's not an iron clad rule, of course, but would you not agree that the way a woman takes care of her hands and feet may be a good indicator of how she takes care of her overall body? That's been my experience. I mean, crusty feet doesn't necessarily mean crusty, whatever, but come on girl, them feet.

You know them pilgrims had it rough, not much time or resources for them feet. Dare I say, not to get too provocative, them indian feet as well. Maybe rub some pork fat on there. Recently my wife showed me a funny on the net. Chick humor, because it more just grossed me out. It was a "how I see myself" vs reality. First picture was total sassy hotness. Next up, the reality was a short film of a women sitting up in bed, hair a mess, a plastic bowl catching some of the shavings as she was going at her feet with a big file or wood rasp. Kind of gross thing I don't need to see, she thought it was absolutely hilarious. It's kind of like sausage, I don't need to see it made, but mmm, pork fat.

Amirite, pork fat rules, in moderation. There's always room for agreement on something, yeah?
