Yeah, I know. Everyone's busy with the December Challenge, lol.

I was too. "was" is the operative word. My song (which wasn't even in the challenge, because my lyrics went astray...lol) was complete "shite" and I scrapped the project. (we're using the word "project" very loosely here...lol)

Anyhoo, I opined that "even if it doesn't work maybe I can salvage somethign out of it...", which endd up being rather prophetic.

I thought this was half decent... but, like always, I can't trust my own ears some nights.

believe it or not, the base melody comes directly from verse 3 of my crap song, LMAO. I know, hard to believe... I can't improve on this anymore right now, and I'm on like 8 hours sleep in the last 3 days, and kinda wired on caffeine. I can finally sleep, I made something half decent. (I think...lol)

I figure the Gecko can be counted on to find something wrong with it... LMAO. I hope this isn't a "one trick pony", as I would like this to be my new "style". Ah well... at least it doesn't sound like an out of tune rendition of Gilligans Island, LMAO

I think the condition is more commonly known as 'pianist envy'!

Nice track . . . as a stand alone, it's okay . . . it does some interesting things . . . but it would make an awesome backing for some hip-hop type lyrics . . . you know . . . that half-spoken kind of thing with some scantily clads gyrating with wanton abandon in the background while this snoozer bares his oiled and waxed pectorals in front of a gleaming black 58 Caddy.

Maybe here is where you get to submit your porno music piece.

Musically, the piece started well, with the sedstar percussive trademark. About 30 seconds in I was hoping for a change. There was a hint of it at just before the minute mark. But I wanted something more contrasting, for example, cutting out the percussion at 30 seconds, doubling the length of the notes and having a swirly thing happening, before bouncing back with the main theme.

As for the Giligan's Island hijacked song . . . I would not give up on that yet. The lyrics were interesting and unusual . . . that type of song is a rarity these days, and I reckon it could have turned into something unique.

well... 10 hours sleep does wonders for a man (and his ears) let me go listen to this short piece....

hmmm. now, its decent, but definitely doesnt sound like it did before. I must be mixing at too high of volumes for far too many hours, then coulping body fatigue on toip of everything, making for some weird audible effects on my part.

I said "pianist envy" mainly because... can you picture trying to play three to four octaves at once? LMAO

I dont know if its "true" fugue or not, lol. I'm gonna see what happens when I try to do this with several different things and try to assign the various octaves off to different instruments.

could have something, could have more shite. I must be shutting down whole blocks of freq's in my hearing thru no breaks, fatigue, and caffeine.

definately not a fugue... but it's kinda interesting in a modal kinda way... it's gotta strong mono chordal thing going on and the percussive nature along with the shifting 8va's work pretty well...
