    digi rack and behringer ada8000

ok im getting money to build a studio (thats what my other post was about). but one of the guys is pretty persistent on getting a digi 003 rack. its not really a big deal but im just a little concerned that its only 8 inputs. (im not familiar with this). so i was wondering if i got 2 of these behringer ada8000 a/d/a convertor (or anything similar, kinda skeptical of getting behringer gear). so that i have the 8 ins from the 003 and 8 ins from each of these a/d/a converters to make 24 ins.

the reason i want 24 ins is so we could record full bands if need be.

any thoughts and comments are appreciated, and thanks in advance guys/gals .

As far as I know, the Digi 003 rack only has one TOSLINK/ADAT input so you could only use one of the Behringer units for 8 more channels.

I've had 4 ADA8000s for about 9 years now. The mic pre amps are adequate if not brilliant and tend to get a bit noisy if you push the gain. i can generally plan things to keep higher output devices on the ADAs.

I believer Behringer has announced an ADA8200 to replace the 8000 and one of the claims is better (Midas) pre amps. I've not had a chance to try these.

For your remote control, Google "Control Surface". You should find a selection.

ok thats what i gathered but just wanted to be completely sure.

ide be using the ADA8000 for drums, so i suppose that would work then? im starting to think that maybe we could just get the digi rack and use that for vocals, guitars, bass, etc. and just use my profire 2626 along with the 2 behringer ADA8000s (or 82000 if theyre out) for drums and if we want to do full band stuff.

Drums are the sort of thing I put on my ADA8000s--I can keep the gain so low that the slight noisiness is never an issue. I'm curious to hear the new pre amps in the 8200s though--I'm guessing they might be the same as in the x32 mixer which have had some good reviews.

I don't know what implications of trying to use your Digi and your Profire alongside each other. Audio drivers often don't play nicely together but other times it seems to work.

I have this...very clean and decent quality for the price...i considered the focusrite as the mic inserts are on the front, with the D8 theyre on the back, just be aware of this if you were wanting to swap cables often
