SPI didn't make me buy in 12 packs. They were fully willing to break open packs and sell by single panels. I happened to have bought 20 anyway though.

i think 703 was about 1.15 a square foot?
many equivalent products are much cheaper.
1260 2" (51mm) A 6.0 pcf (96 kg/m3)
0.25 0.85 1.15 1.10 1.04 1.06 1.05
that's what i got, for about .60 cents a square foot
by comparison
703, plain 2" (51mm) on wall 3.0 pcf (48 kg/m3)
0.17 0.86 1.14 1.07 1.02 0.98 1.00
unfaced 703 is about twice as expensive.
audio?
seriously, give me negative rep.

this is a marvelous thread... im having trouble finding the pricings for a lot of this insulation though.
which is better from Roxul, AFB or Safe?? you keep saying "safe n' sound"..but im not seeing that
Either is fine. I prefer the RHT80 for bass control duties.

Hey everybody,
My first post here. Lot's of good info concerning where to buy rigid fiberglass and rockwool.
I'm out in California, a couple hours away from S.F. so I checked the SPI there and they're prices seem pretty high. The 8 pcf 2" 2'X4' panels of Roxul are $.70 a square foot.
I mentioned that I'd heard about someone in Oklahoma (Scottgman) getting it for $.39 a square foot, and the guy said that's lower than they get it at cost.
Anyway, does anybody know of a good place to get Mineral Wool close to the Bay Area? I'd even be willing to pay more that .39 a sq. foot, but I think I can do better than .70. I need a lot of it.
