Treatment

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but I record vocals and both electric and acoustic guitars in my untreated (and it shows!) basement.

Are there any issues with treating such a room, like dampening the recordings I get in a warm sounding room?

Thanks in advance,
Timbo

It's better than nothing for sure, and allows you to add the reverb type of choice,, just make sure of humidity levels and get a dehumidifier if needed,,, Don't leave mic and treatment up when not in use if mosture levels are an issue,,,
Cheaper quick results, I would suggest for a little over $149 get some sound blankets from vocalboothtogo. bundle of 6...
Make a small some what efficient treated area... about 6' x (almost) 7'... That is the size of each of them...
4 on the sides, 1 above, and one inside creatively surrounding you and the mic from the front / sides, or back /sides...
Use an area rug for more control,,,
