Owens Corning ruining my life?

It is hard to move to his place because I paid for over $2000 of the gear while he paid about 250. This being true, my parents do not want me moving that much of my own gear to someones elses house. In addition, It is a hassle because he knows nothing about mixing, while I on the other hand no nothing about mixing. The difference is, my nothing is much more than his nothing. Lastly, I want to be able to record myself playing solo which I do a lot and would like the studio to be in my basement. However, if it would make all the difference it the world, I would do my best to move everything to his basement since mine is just sheetrock. So that leads me to the question, is this stuff worth the hastle of teaching him how to mix somewhat and fighting with my parents over.
