Built a new 36" 12-space rack today.
It will hold my turntable, Vinyl LP's, my rack mount computer (when back from the shop) and other stuff.
Wood cost was about $30.
Casters/Wheels cost about $8.
Nails and screws were about $2.
12-space rack pair was free as I pulled it from another rack.

PS-A Build Plans PDF for this project will be available on my website in a week or so.
I took lots of step-by-step photos as I built it too!

cool build man, looking forward to the pdf.
P.S...nice trombone! :D

Thanks, C.H.
Trombone is a Large Bore Bach Stradivarius 42B-LTG I bought years ago while playing with a Symphony Orchestra and doing a lot of freelance work (Circuses, Ice Shows, Broadway Show Pit Orchestras, Brass Ensemble work etc.).

nice rack! :D
How do you cut out the pieces? I mean do you saw by hand or let somebody else cut it?

The sides are stock 16" X 48" off the shelf so no cutting required.
Everything else I measured and cut myself with powered saws.
Some nails and screws, some sanding and voila!
Ready to paint (or not!).
