Man, you know, I was skeptical about it at first but you improve your workflow incredibly with this thing. Easy to leave your cables connected (e.g., Condenser mics ch1-2, PODxt in ch 3-4, Yamaha ES6 ch 5-6). Save a template with your plug ins and voila! It's done...
I did notice a little more "oomph" on my monitors, not sure why... but I like it. Can't say much about the preamps, but they are better than my Mbox2.
Having the faders synch'd up is phenomenal! Automation is a breeze... now I need to learn more tricks to be even better. I would recommend it if you can get a used one for a decent price. I'm loving this... cleared all the connections too from my computer to only the FW... nomore USB to HD through FW to USB etc etc... and I freed up one of my Mac USBs now. Very clean set up overall.
