Hi all,
I have likely missed a key point in Rod's book, however I'm struggling to define between these two channel types.
Do I use furring/hat channel if I have isolation clips? And would I not use isolation clips if I use resilient channel?
Also - the clips are expensive. If I don't need significant isolation, and am planning on having two layers of greenglued drywall (1/2" + 5/8" / 13mm + 16mm) then do I need to isolate from the single frame? Or can I attach directly? I'm assuming that it's significantly worth decoupling from the frame with clips or resilient channel.
Cheers,
Tom
