cutting corners?

Been having problems finding the right room to record my drums. I am working on refinishing hardwood floors in a room that's 13'X14' with 10 ft ceiling. I figure with some bass traps I could get a good sound. Would it be worth adding insulation and drywall in all the corners? Like ceiling to wall and wall to wall. Just in case anyone else has tried this, please let me know how much it improved the room if any.

Thanks

No. You'll just decrease the volume of the room, which isn't what you want to do. The corners are more useful for bass trapping.

Hey Tim, what part of the Ohio Vally are you in???

And I agree with Frank- span the corners with your bass traps and leave the back side open. I recall Ethan (or one of the smart guys here) saying that the rigid fiberglass was more effective as you moved it away from the face of the wall.

Exactly. Straddling corners with sheet rock or wood is a common mistake. But it's a big one. All that does is remove the single best place to put bass traps!
