hiya y'all

Im doing a piece of A level coursework on something like the best material/what factors affect the absorption/reflection/control of sound. i havent finalixed *exactely* what im going to investigate. but i was just wondering if there is any useful websites detailing any info on this?

the model i have for measuring this property for various materials is.....

loudspeaker....1 meter away cardioid microphone pointing away from the speaker.

play white noise on the speaker and record the result output from the mic........this is the 'control' condition used as a reference point.

then i place each of the materials at an arbituary distance from the mic [say 10cm] and record the output.

collect these togeethr and make up files that have the left channel as constantly this control signal and the right channel for the different materials and do a frequency analysis in cooledit from there i can take points of the graph and analys the differences.

does this sound sound do you think?
sounds alright to me.
and yeah as i said if any of you knows of any usefuyl websites about that would be cool.
