Hi folks, haven't been on here in a while. I'm usually over at mylespaul.com. Decided to put this here since there's a lot more people into recording and studio building around here. Well, I finally finished building my studio (for now). Pretty happy with it so far, hopefully I will be able to buy and add some more stuff next year and for now its time to start recording an album. Cheers.

looks well organized....the HS50's, one of my fav mix engineers likes those, with a sub sometimes. those little Yammie mixers are a pretty decent gain/preamp too, as good as a dmp3 and that ilk... gets the job done.imo, we';ve had one forever, gigs and recording and still not one issue with it, amazing rugged build.

Thanks. The monitors are actually HS5's. The newer version of the HS50's I guess.

What I was told here pretty quickly - get the monitor(s) away from the corner; and acoustic treatment.

Yammie keyboard - on the floor? Maybe you play with your toes? ;)

Happy recording!

Yeah I've heard the same thing as well. I gotta do something about that. Can anyone give some tips as to what kind of acoustic foam to buy and where to place it? Its kinda tricky because the left speaker is in front of the window so I can even put foam behind that one and the right speaker is in the corner which is probably even worse I'm guessing.

Keyboard is on the floor because there's no room for it anywhere else. I'm hoping to get the studio out of the house someday and add another desk to have to desks forming a sideways "L" shape and put the keyboard on top of the second desk. Sadly I haven't gotten to the skill level of being able to play with my toes yet, haha.

NOOOOOO! No foam!!! Read some threads here. You want to build broadband absorbant traps - bass traps in other words.
