no doubt ..... 'you snooze .... your gain' is what happened here.
yes ..... 'cause someone's out there just waiting to steal your song.
And BTW ..... ANYtime I hear something I like I download it. If anyone did like your song it's far too late ...... copies of it are out there.
But no one is stealing songs nowadays ..... no money to be made at it and there's zillions of songs flooding a marketplace that doesn't even exist any longer.

If you know the secret codes you can get by the mastering boss on level 8.
I am copyrighting for my own peace of mind. The decision came after I was asked if I would be interested in selling the song. I honestly didn't consider that it might have monetary value when I posted it. I'm still quite new to songwriting and it didn't occur to me that anything I could write at this stage would be on a level that would prompt anyone to ask to buy it. I would have never thought to copyright it otherwise.
Though your approval or disapproval really have no bearing on my decision, I thank you for your input.

I'm not approving OR disapproving ...... I don't care either way.
I was just giving an opinion that there's no real good reason to think someone's gonna steal your song plus if they were going to, they already have.
But peace of mind is a valid reason to do something, IMO, not that you care.
However ultimately I'm indifferent ..... good luck to ya' though.

I absolutely agree that you are free to give your opinion. This is a discourse. A discourse for which you set the tone, don't forget.
Your opinion was predicated on the assumption that I was worried that someone would steal my song. There was eye-rolling involved. Had you asked me, "Why are you copyrighting your song? Is it because you think someone will steal it?" You'd have given me an opportunity to say that I am doing it for my own peace of mind. But instead, you jumped to your own conclusion and then proceeded to inject your opinion with the undertone that I was some kind of paranoid prima donna (based on your assumption). That did seem kind of rude.
