Pretty cliche stuff. I'd try to make more interesting music and lyrics that aren't about love.

I disagree. Well-written and performed love songs will never go out of style. I think this one is pretty good. Good singing and performances. Some lines could be tweaked ("spread your wings" has been sung a few times too many).
