I bought the BR800 a few months ago great value for money what would we have paid to have all those effects options about 20 years ago?..my musical ability is fairly basic but put together a decent recording of one of my songs but forgot to write down the settings and deleted the song from my MTR..I am wanting to create the The Marc Bolan and Trex sound and a 70s glam rock sound help welcome friends
 
Record the instruments and vocals the way you want them to sound, half the battle is done. Now you can see one of the reasons why those of using computer DAWs like them - all your settings are saved, so easy to review and copy to a new project.
 
Yeah, that's step 1 of tracking (with step 0 - of course - being have good songs and good musicians): get your instruments to sound like what you want and then capture that. Lemme know how it turns out. I too am recording a glam band with a lot of Marc Bolan influence right now. (We're using Reaper instead of a standalone daw)
