Tascam US-1800 - Questions

As long as the device doing the recording is capable of handling the input, then yes. The US1800 is only an interface. The abilities of the recording device (tablet) is the only thing that could cause limitations. Audio tracks are not system taxing. The choice of recording software that you use may be.
 
You don't seem to understand what you're dealing with. See my comments in your other thread.

If you want 6 to 8 mono tracks then you have to have something that will record 6 to 8 mono tracks... that's not the Tascam, which is an audio interface. It will transmit the convered audio in 6 to 8 mono streams.... And whatever program that you record with (on whatever you plug the Tascam into... tablet, computer, Samsung internet fridge....will produce 6 to 8 individual files... there's no splitting involved.
