This should be a sticky

So if I plug my $50 USB mic into the onboard mic input and record it with Audacity, I'll have professional recordings?

I now understand all their is to know about recording!

That picture is awesome. It looks like something from a religious pamphlet. Are they checking out his latest mix? She has some serious moves.

What they hell is that on the floor beeming down through the ceiling? It looks like God was projecting a game of Scrabble?

The next thing that will happen is that a whole lot of people will buy it, and the $50 mic, and then come on this forum with questions like:

Why don't my recordings sound like my favourite bands recordings?
Why do my vocals not sound like (place famous singers name here) vocals?
I recorded my drums using this setup and they sound terrible, why?
I produze hip hop and I am the coolest but my vocals sound lik sh#t, why thoz mot$#r *uck@rs told mezz that I would bee grate.

You should totally save your shitty recording as MP3 too. Just in case you haven't quite shit all over it enough yet.
