    hi there.
Im using blackstar series one 100 head with 150wat eminence the tonker in the isolation box.
My music style is prog rock , metal. I found that setting up mic just after the end of the cone is giving me rounder and fuller/wormer sound
and its not so bassy like set in next to the end of speaker. Im kipping my sm57 around 2 inches from the speaker to get bigger sound.

How you find your settings for your king of style.
how you guys getting best sounding guitar?

I tend to start with a 57 right where the dust cap meets the cone. If I need a brighter sound, I move the Mic to the center. If the tone is too bright, I move it out towards the edge of the speaker.

I've also found that if you set your amp up for a darker sound, record that, then pump up the highs in the mix, you get a much smoother tone that is bright without being harsh.
