    Samson Zoom H2n Experience?

Am new to high quality digital audio recording but have a little experience doing analogue audio recording with both reel to reel and cassette machines.

At present I have more time than money so have been searching the Internet for inexpensive multifunctional audio equipment.

One multifunctional audio product that recently caught my attention is the Samson Zoom H2n.

Would like to use the Zoom H2n for audio recording of both speech and music and hope it is good enough for both these uses.

Since the Zoom H2n has been available for a while, I hope some of the forum readers have one and would like to share their experiences with it.

    Thanks

    Ken

Forgot to mention that before posting I searched the forum using "Zoom H2n" and got "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

Then tried Zoom H2n and got same result.

Sorry, I have only used H4n.
H2n seems to be pretty limited for good tracking possibilities. It would be much better to invest in proper audio interface. Some interfaces are even lot cheaper than H2n (Tascam US-122 Mk2/US-144 Mk2 for example).

I have the Zoom H2, not the H2n. Same product with some minor differences. I use it a lot as a notepad for songwriting ideas. I've also used it at meetings for transcription purposes. I've recorded rehearsals and live gigs. It's great at fulfilling all of these roles. In a pinch you can use it as an mp3 player too.

It's not so good as an audio interface for recording on your computer. If you want to patch another mic into it, it gets noisy. The latency is poor. Get a proper interface if computer recording is your goal.
