How would you recommend going about this? One of the problems I've been having is that the sound of the actual instrument overpowers the pedal sound from the amp. I was wondering if there is anyway to get only the sound coming from the amp with the pedals activated so like recording straight from the amp. I'm really inexperienced with this but I have mics, amps and a mixing board I'm borrowing so if you could explain it really thoroughly and simply I'd really appreciate that. Thank you in advance

Direct box, gobo, amp tent, amp in another room. You'll find all sorts of solutions to this if you just put a little effort into it.
