I'm new here and pretty new to rack gear in general, so please don't be too harsh!
I recently got a headphone amp and a Behringer MDX4600. I realize that isn't the greatest compressor in the world but it came highly recommended by a few sites/casters for podcasting since it's affordable and 4 channel. I neglected to get a different model even though I had considered side chaining for ducking. Aaaanywhoo....
I'm about to buy another compressor, one that does work for side chaining and am wondering if there's any way I can use the MDX4600 via the inserts on my mixer (for people's voices) and then side chain the other and use it for ducking music and commercials specifically? Side chaining is a foreign concept to me.
Thanks for your time!
