Any benefits from a ribbon microphone?

haha Very few radio sound like the cassette that clip that came from, but I think that is a good example.

The oldest I have here, is the standard radio 5-tube Hallicrafters 38e, but it does have a 5-inch speaker. I'm not spending time listening, but I've caught most of the regular radio Nederland and Voice of Whatevers. In the US, what's still around may be evangelical. I have my Dad's d-day 28-volt receiver and a side keyer around somewhere. It is no Saba, or, Blaupunkt but it is sure in the boat anchor class;
