Recording drums in large room

Starting a demo project and willl be recrding drum tracks in a very large loft-type room, evrything and i mean everything is made of (norweigan) wood,floor, ceiling, walls, windows, well many not windows...

Not much experience recording live drums, Is this good or Bad?
Any Advice or Hints??

Seriously, it all depends on the size, shape & volume of the room. You may well need to deaden some areas a bit - Cheap fixes? Heavy blankets on laundry racks & extruded insulation (pink styrafoam) gaffed to mic stands. It's only going to control some highs, but it might be the fix you need here and there.

Start with a snare on a stand and wander the room giving it a hit or two and try to find the sweet spot if the room has one. Listen for flutter echo from parallel surfaces, cannon-like sounds coming from the corners, etc.

Try to take advantage of the space instead of the space taking advantage of you.
