I just purchased a BR1200 cd and want to know can I copy a performance track cd to the 1200 and add my vocal to it ?

What do you mean 'performance track cd'? A prerecorded cd?

I don't see anything in the manual about importing tracks from a CD, only by USB from a computer.

Why not record the CD into the BR1200 in real time by plugging in a CD player and recording the CD? I do this all the time in the studio when doing demos of singers with backing tracks, saves time of ripping, dragging, converting to 24bit, etc etc, 3 to 4 mins backing track in recorder.
