Need info for recording from Dj system to CD-RW

I need some basic info to get me started recording to CD. What I want to do is record from my 2 turntables connected to my mixer and then to my sound card and tehn burn to CD(is this right?).I know I must save my mix as a wave but the Windows recorder only saves a short wav.
1.What other wav recording software can I get
2.What kind of quality will I get?
