Need Help Getting the Right Settings

Hey,

I was wondering how I might be able to achieve a kind of hollow grainy sound (don't worry, I've attached a video with what I mean :cool: )

I'm not sure if the Mids are just boosted up and the gain increased or if it's some other type of effect, or maybe even a different type of microphone.

I'm new to vocal recording and mixing BUT i do play guitar and I have TRIED :p mixing guitar tracks so I'm not a complete newbie :D

Yeah, I think that will give you the right effect. I wouldn't start with boosting, though. I'd try cutting first. Just shelf out the bottom and top ends until you find the right sound.
