How to send the signal from my mic pre amp to the saffire pro 40 interface ?

if i am using another pre amp before plugging MY MIC INTO my interface SAFFIRE PRO 40 do i send my microfone thru line into the interface or WITH AN balanced mic xlr cable ?

does that doubles the pre amp or by just leaving my pre amp gain all the way on o on the interface is good enough ?

First of all i loved your song empty pages. Great work

most of the times i use either a Neumann TLM103 or a shure Sm7B for my vocals and plug in straight into the Avalon Compressor VT737SP which has mic pre amp included.

So the way you say will be plugging XLR into the Avalon 737SP , out of the avalon thru XLR too , and into my interface thru XLR too ?
