Help us replace our O2R

We've been relying on (and loving) our Yamaha O2R, but it's very used and reaching the end of its life. One channel doesn't work, others are getting noisy, the motorized faders are not working well, etc. I considered trying to repair it, but I assume I'll do more damage than good while spending a fortune.
(For the record, we received it very used, and have treated it lovingly)

There's TOO many mixers on the market! I'm overwhelmed! Please help!
We use most of the features. We use it for practicing and recording.
For recording, we also use a TASCAM 1641 into a laptop with Sonar Cakewalk.

Hopes:
I'd love for my new mixer to also replace the 1641 and output directly to Cakewalk.
Great preamps.
Great onboard compressors, eq's, reverb
16 Channels
4-6 AUX outputs
$1,000 - $2,000

What am I forgetting?
Anyone know of a mixer that might suit our needs?
(We also have a TASCAM DP24. It's a great unit, but lacking several features we need).
Thanks!

Given that you're already familiar with a Yamaha, consider that another Yamaha -- like, say, an 01V96 -- will follow a similar paradigm in terms of its user interface, and so your workflow won't suffer quite so much as you try to learn a new console.
