Direct USB vs microphone

Hey people, I have a question regarding recording a guitar amp, I have two options but I don't quite know which will get the best sound quality, the first option is connecting the amplifier via 1/4 inch cable to a Line 6 UX interface which is then connected to computer via USB and recording, the second option is using a microphone like a Sennheiser E609 to record the amp in the good old fashioned way. Which would be best?

It's all about getting the sound you want. The DI-ed amp route is handy if you have problems cranking an amp in your recording place (like an apartment). If you get the sound you want out of the amp, miking it makes more sense.
