Compression on vocals

Hi

I want to compress my lead vocal so it stands better in the mix. With my Lexicon, the best results are with a 2:1 compression, 4 ms attack and 4 ms release. For comparaison purpose, I applied the effect chain that I used in the past with boss guitar pedals "compression -> chorus -> delay -> reverb". The compression with the boss pedal seems to be at 2:1 but with an attack and release of 0 ms. Is it possible ? I guess only analog devices can compress live signals that fast. Is it better to use analog or digital devices to compress live signals ?

Thanks,

Jack Real.

i'm quite sure the boss pedal doesnt work at 0ms...i think there has to some think time for it to occur...for compression to happen at 0 ms i would have to know what your going to do next and attack/release right before it happens.....and thats analog or digital...now what could be is that the boss has better analog circuitry than the lexicon has digital circuitry
