Anyone tried this?

Wouldn't it just sound phasey?
Yes. Yes it will. Unless you're listening on headphones. If it mixes in the air or collapses toward mono for any reason, it'll get ugly quick. Course, any sort of "stereo enhancement" plug probably does about the same thing. :)

'Rich stereo'
One example of 'rich stereo' as applied to 'a thing', is the original source setting in ti's place in the L R panorama' of the sound stage (image) with room/space cues around it -indicating a thing in a place'.

If you want to spread', smear' thicken go for that, like that. Delays (multiple), defuse and/or filtered or not, or various of the smaller ambience / delay verb patches.

A few things they forgot to mention- about Haas' and short delays-
The precedence effect; .1 to about one MS = Haas pan effect! That also extends out into 8 or 10MS, where it's joined by 'ambience sounds.

The higher the MS of delay used are increased- the lower in frequencies that will be included in the way the phase combing with muck with the track.
